The shop (Top Upholstery in Oceanside) did a great job, and only had it a day and half, the top itself is from YearOne (Kee) and the guy commented on the good quality of the material and fit. I'm so close to being done I can taste it, going down for front end alignment tomorrow if the rain holds off.
Len.....I cant begin to type how ABOSULTELY STUNNING your car has turned out....you should be very proud of your efforts. What I Particularly LOVE is how those wheels go so well with the color of the car - It couldn't look better if you had them custom made :TU: :beer :TU: :beer :TU: :beer
69 GS 350 4 Speed Len Looks GREAT I have been trying to decide on what type of wheels to put on mine when it get 's back from the paint shop the color is silver mist. Are those the new old style torq thrust wheels? What size are they? Thanks !!!:beer :beer
The way the wheels worked with the color was a huge bonus, I'd been looking at dozens of different (read $$$) custom wheels when I ran across these (American Classic Torq Thrust) at the Del Mar Good Guys show, they are a two piece billet outter, powder coated cast inner, updated version of the old Torq Thrust D's (all cast). They run less than $250ea. which is about half of some of the wheels I looked at. These are 16" (7"/4"bs in front, 8"/5"bs in back). Paint on the car is the original Tarpon Green Mist. Thanks for all input guys, I've been really pushing to get this thing completed, the advise I've recieved on this board has kept me from making many mistakes (still made plenty) and I appreciate it much.
COOL Thanks Len, I was not sure which wheel those were as American Racing just came out with the "Classic " straight spoke torq thrust as opposed to the "D" and thought yours might be those but after looking at the pic I see you have the larger size custom wheels with the "D" spoke. Looks Great!!!:bglasses:
:ball: :ball: :ball: I MISS MY 68 GS CONVERT!!!!! Lookin good (although I'd go with stock wheels....just me...) Glad to see ANY 68s being restored :TU:
