The new software for the Starting Tree will now record both lanes if they red light and the worse red light will be the loser. In the past if the first car had a red light the race was over unless the second car crashed, hit the wall or went out of bounds.

This will stop the advantage the faster cars had when the first car to leave (slower car) had a red light and the race was over.

    Good news for slower cars.

Well i think its a good deal but a lot of guys are going to be mad because they built there cars just because that first is worst deal!! My opinion i think it should only be in bracket classes not in a heads up race!!

In a heads up race, wouldn't first be worst and this rule be the same since both lanes are going green at the same time? The first one to red light would also be the worse mathematically of the two anyway.

I always found the the first or worst confusing when it came to dual red lights anyways. If worst trumps first when it comes to hitting the wall or crossing the center, would worst still trump first in the case of having a bigger red light????

We ran a few races last year under this format and i like it. I tend to push my lights and have about 10 reds a year by less than .005. This rule now gives us some cushion to not have to be on the razors edge of the light while being the slower car. Alot of ppl refuse to relight and the fear of it causes them to settle for an 030 light to have cushion yo not go red because it was an instant load up for the slow car. With no fear of the quicker to have to do the same, especially if the saw the other relight come on.

What is odd us now you as the slow might go by the tree not see the reef cause you might clear the tree before the other car leaves. The new system will not show red in either lane till both leave.

This might just be the ticket to more wins against faster cars. If they don't see red, then no free run. I always try to push the tree, rather lose being over aggressive then sleeping. Interesting! I wonder how many tracks will convert.
