I've been searching years for 69 cutlass or 442 to do a H/O tribute. I would have rather done it to a cutlass but it was hard to find one with a 455, buckets, and floor console. Not only did I find the perfect project 69 442 close by in Jersey, but also what I believe was a smoking deal. I always seem to find good deals on my cars right before the holidays, so I've had this since November. It will be a little while before I can start it, but till then I'll collect the few parts I need. I'm a little torn now because it would be also nice to restore as a 442, but I already got the spoiler and hood scoop.

A little bit about the car.
Real 442 car, frame and core support super nice, quarters, trunk, and passenger floor where professionally installed, rest of car just about rust free, needs paint. Floor shift car, non A/C, buckets, nice headliner, dash, and tic-toc tach. Came with new carpet, new front door panels, new bezels, all stainless and eye brows, wheel well moldings, and floor console which needs installed. 15 X 7 super stock II wheels with newer bf Goodrich T/A's 235 60 and 275 60 tires. Newer exhaust, trumpet tips not installed yet. Under the hood, needs detailing
is a 71 455, edelbrock intake, 750 holley, electric fuel pump, lunati bracketmaster cam, headers, ported heads, roller rockers, msd ignition. TH 400, 2300 stall, 331 posi rear.
It came with 68 bucket seats with the side buttons that are covered in a mauve material even the backs and aprons are nicely done but not for me, so if I can't find buckets I'll just have to redo these. Will need rear panels, the ones I got are for a convertible.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Nice solid looking Olds. Is the dash from an A/C car?

It looks pretty good, Tom. I probably have some used parts for it. Be aware the trunk emblem is in the wrong place, you want to fix that before you paint it.

I'm not sure Jerry, the few I've seen had no ac but still had that dash. It could be, still picking up information on the car. I'm on classic Oldsmobile there is some good information on there.

Thanks, Frank. I thought the 69 has the 442 emblem on the right side, the others have it there also. Are you saying it should be higher or closer to the taillights? Please let me know what you have.

Tom, it should be further right like the 2 about over the bumper bolt and the whole emblem higher. The reason is, there should be a stripe over the chrome trunk molding. The headlight knob is 68, the directional stock is newer than 69, I think. I probably have the fender chrome, maybe the headlight doors...I'll check in a week or 2 when I go home. Here's a pic of my emblem but from an awkward angle. The 44 should be closer, then like the 2. Like on your hood tooth.

Ok thanks Frank, most of the work was done by the owner before the guy I got it from. I have the fender chrome and doors. The seller told me about the 68 headlight knob and gave me the correct 69 knob and switch with the sale. I didn't know about the directional, funny how you notice all these little things, I need to learn more about this car. Really all I need are the rear door panels, package tray, and eventually I'll need nicer bumpers. Ty, Tom.

Good solid looking car. I like the '68-'69 Oldsmobiles best by far out of the A-bodies of those 2 years. The wheel flares especially on back really make the body pop, and look really dramatic in a dark color. Since it's not a numbers car, I'd go ahead and do what you want with it.

Thanks Lucas. Yeah this is one of those cars that you get in, turn the key and she starts right up.

I have a really nice set of original tail light lenses that I polished for a 69 442.

They could use a new home.
    Let me know.

Funny I just bought a nice pit free tailight housing from a olds member. I haven't received it yet and I don't think the lens is included. Let me take a better look at my lenses and I'll get back to you. Thanks
