Original type horns screws are important. Originals have a captive type star washer that digs into the metal. Originals were silver zinc for better ground. This is what I have found on all original cars I have seen. I’ve never even had to clean paint off when using correct screws.
So would I, but at the horn end. Test the continuity from the horn case to the battery negative terminal. The steering column button grounds a relay that supplies power to the horn.
You have to apply some logic here. The horns worked, he swapped the core support and now they dont work. Logic would indicate that it something to do with the core support install. How does a relay go bad?
They sent the wrong relay, but then sent the right one free of charge. It came while I was working away for 8 days...Put on yesterday... Horn works fine now. Thanks One and All Marty
