I put a new Core Support in the Custom, but now the horn is not working.
    Thanks, Mart

I don't know on your car specifically, but all a horn needs is power and ground. Check for both and if you have them, the horn is bad. You can also jump to the horn with 2 wires hooked to your battery to test it.

I'd bet on the ground being bad.

Yep, pushing the horn button applies ground I believe. Could be a bad ground going to the button or out of the button and to the frame.

Probably the coating on the new core support preventing it from grounding.

The horn is grounded through the horn mounting bracket to the core support. When you hit the horn button it tells the horn relay to send power to the horn.

In replacing the core support what else did you dis-connect/remove & replace. IF the horn was working previuosly it almost has to be something you touched like maybe the rag joint???

Good call One and All. I forgot to sand where the horn bracket mounts when I sanded for the 2 wire grounds on the light
    harness.
    Thanks, Mart

I sanded the trumpet bracket and the core support,,,No Luck.
The relay doesn't click and it always
did, even if you had the horn trumpet disconnected.
Do the relay switches ever go bad?
    Thanks Mart

Horn relay on my 67 had gone bad, so may be that's happened to yours.

Seems like it Fred. I've never had to replace one. I guess if the relay isn't clicking, it's not letting current through to the trumpet????

As I recall there are 3 wires on the relay. One was hot, and when you pressed the horn button it grounded it and caused the relay to send power out the wire to the horns. I just remember no power coming out to the horn when beeped and replace the relay.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

So, it's pretty simple to test? If the horns are properly grounded, you should be able to bring power to the connector on them and they should blow. You can do this directly from the battery, or you could jump from the fatter (red?) wire at the relay.

The horn button switches ground to the relay(as Fred says above). So you can test that by putting a light or meter across the other two contacts(not the fatter wire) on the relay. When you push the horn button the light should go on, or the meter should read 12v (about).

If both those tests work, the relay is bad. if either doesn't you have other issues.

If it worked fine before the core support........don’t load the parts cannon.

Take the horn set off. Run a ground wire to the bracket and supply power to the horn, they should sound. Like others have said you can do this right from the battery positive and negative. If they blow, try running a ground strap from the core support to the frame rail.

All your front lights work ok?
