Adding a Auto Console with tach to my 66 Skylark
I have a parts car NO A/C, that has bucket seats and Console. Also has the floor shift steering column.
The wiring harness in the parts car also has the wiring to the neutral safety switch and reverse lights. The car the console is going in is column shift, no console and has A/C.

So my question is the wiring to the console in the parts car, does it run to the fuse block or is there a plug that will plug into the harness on the car it is going in?

Also the steering column will that just swap out or will there be wiring issues.

Finally if I have to swap out the dash wiring harness from the parts car to the other car will I be able to use the A/C since the parts car has no A/C

    Thanks for any Knowledge!

Cars originally equipped with the long console (automatic) had a different instrument panel wiring harness. The wiring harness includes the fuse block, so it's not an easy swap.
The long console was also available with column shifter. I'll guess that used the same harness but has provisions for the neutral/backup switches for either column or floor shifter....
I have a 66 parts book that shows three instrument panel harnesses:
    6287088-
    6287089- with long console
6287090- GS with consolette & tach (3/4 speed)

There is a another harness for the long console wiring, 2989489 (did your console come with it?)
And a harness listed for AC, 6287183. Unknown whether that is the 'instrument panel harness' or a separate harness.

There is a 1967 Assembly manual online at
    http://1967gs.com/manuals
That should give you some clues as to how the 66 is wired.

Awesome info! Thanks for taking the time to compose that answer. I will track the wiring from the console to the fuse box in the parts car. To prove out a universal plug. Both cars have no interior do it won’t be bad if I have to swap or make hybrid of the 2 harnesses. Want to keep the A/C so it would not be a simple swap. Will have to splice something in the back of the fuse block
