Sorry no video this time. Next time definatly, I'm either going back to Atco this Friday or to Island Dragway April 17.

I still think that you are running some great numbers for a stock engine. So now it sound like you need to square up the jets at 71 pull the 8-9 degrees and run that 11.99.

I would bet that a stock Chevy 350 couldn't pull those numbers on a stock engine.

I agree about squaring up the jets to run the number, but I don't think I need to run 71s for that. I ran the 67/63 setup on the last pass with the full bottle and ran 12.61 with the 1.87 60' time at 107.3 mph. I think 67s should get into the 11.90s with good traction in the mid/low 1.6s. This last pass was a fluke.....out of no where. 60' times for the day were....1.66/1.71/1.67/1.69.....then 1.87

I think the car has a 1.60-1.62 in it.

Oh and those old stock 350 chevys got nothing on this Buick!!

    UPDATE CORRECTIONS.......

Ok guys I just found my notes from my previous passes last November when the car went 12.44 @ 106.6....well the Nitrous jetting was 71n/73f.

Now with this new Lunati cam I ran almost the identical pass with 67n/63f.....definatly lean AND over 20hp LESS Nitrous!!! I started comparing timeslips and found my notes. I also ran 107.2 mph on my last pass of the day with alittle less timing but still lean! So at this point, I have some SOLID proof that I did gain aproximatly 20hp so far with the cam change.

I know the feeling. You described my whole 2008 season. Good job and keep giving rough looking buicks a good name.:TU:

Bump. When is our next track outing. Will this be with the stock exhaust. I hope you leave the stock manifolds on just to see shat it can do in this trim. Does the engine still seem to be holding up ok?

Well next day at the track is most likely going to be April 17th at Island Dragway. I need to get some track info so I can do any corrections needed for air/alititude, so it is comparable. Up to this point I've only run the car at Atco raceway.

As far as leaving the manifolds in for one more day at the track I think that is a possibility. about 50-50 right now, I'm not sure I'm going to have time to put the headers in soon enough. Either way the Wide band will be installed before I get to the track this time.

As for how is the engine holding up, well its just fine. With some Rotell 15w40 in there the oil pressure is back were it used to be. It still fires right up idles decent.....and NO SMOKE!! Had a couple of cracked valve seals causing smoke out the exhaust, changed those all out when I did the cam swap.

I need to work on the launch alittle better. If I can get the car to 60' consistently in the mid 1.65 range I can bump the power up more.

I'll see if I can get some video this time at the track, I'll also get some of the car under the hood and such maybe a walk around so everyone can see what I've really got.

The XRS is pretty quick. It is a little slow out of the hole. If the tires spin they just wheel hop. You would have to slip the clutch to pull out quick. From about 2500rpm it rips pretty good. At about 6500 rpm to 8 grand you get that power band like those old 2 stroke dirt bikes. I am only at the top of 3rd gear at the end of the quarter mile. I seen a video where someone pulled it up to 135 mph.
He doesn't have a chance against your Buick. He might stay with you if you run him on a roll. The one thing I can say about this car is that it is quick and I get 33 miles to the gallon all the time. I never got less than 30.
I had a Ford ZX2 and it would not even get 30 miles to the gallon and it was slow. It ran in the 17s in the quarter. Best I got out of the X was 16.10 @ 90

Hey guys I figure its time to update this thread. The shortblock has been assembled for awhile and just havn't had time to finish up the head work and intake manifold corrections.....its amazing how badly this Poston intake is really. The ports are so badly mismatched all over the place, my buddy has been playing around with it because he has nothing else to do, welding the floor in 2 cylinders and lots of cleanup all over this thing.

Hoping to have the car at Atco for the Buick Ford day in Nov. It will be the first time out with the car in 2 years, its amazing how time passes.

So the changes from your 12.47 runs are:

EFI, headers, head porting, fix on the poston intake, and a stock rebuild of the bottom end?
