Need Measurements for ball stud location in block

Discussion in 'U-shift em' started by Paul Massicotte, Dec 4, 2004.

  1. I have a 76 455 which doesn't have the threaded hole in the side for the Z bar ball stud. I know 70 and up to 74 (I think) had the holes in every block. The block is at the machinists and he would like some definite measurements so he doesn't screw up the geometry of the clutch setup. Thanks

I had a 73 350 that didnt have the hole drilled either. If you look behind were the hole should be on the block, youll see the boss cast in the back to house the threads. Thats where it goes. Dont be scared if your slightly off. There is alot of room for assembly line variances built into these cars. The tolerances arent that tight. I did it in my driveway with an electric drill and a tap. Came out perfect!
