BTW, I see you have track time Paul? I figure if I wanted to run the quarter I would have to launch in third as first and second are a waste of time I mean "tire". I can not mash it in third either :3gears: My previous SP TH 400set up was pretty stupid too, but direct drive is a totally different animal. The 4.11's are steeper now, but whooohoooo! I have bugs in my teeth:grin: and my smile muscles in my face are sore:grin:

  3. Please don't leave in third.

You'll need to put a tire on that car to get it to hook. Depending on how the rest of your driveline's built will determine how hard you can leave the line.

I leave really low @ 3500 RPM to minimize driveline damage. But I built my combo to sustain a lot of abuse so I can make more passes.

I was teasing with the third launch Paul ... incidentally, tires are new last summer 275/50/15 BF Goodrich Drag Soft Compound T/A Tires, and new last month 3.25" driveline. This is all the same set up that was accustomed to the 4K SP TH 400 launch. No wheel hop, and I am installing the SUMMIT trailing arm frame braces for added insurance, but torque is torque

I agree dont leave the line in third.

Leave at a reasonable RPM and maybe you dont even get full throttle in first or until the top of first.

The strip will be more stickier than the street.

Warm up those drag radials and get them clean.

...don't fret boys, just a street car. Maybe one day after a new top is installed I will take a run down the track:Brow:
