I have a 1970 street/strip car, that see more strip than street - LOL - need your opinions.

I am running a lot of tracks over here with NO prep, so I need it to hook. Here is what I have today.

Rear end I have a TRZ anti roll kit - stock springs - QA1 single adjustable shocks - Metco lower aluminium control arms and stock uppers with poly bushings. I run a built 12 bolt with 3.90 gear.

Front I have Speedtech tubular A-arms with Viking coilovers double adjustable - this setup was on the car when I got it, and I know the springs right now are the stiffest pro touring springs from Viking - so need some other springs for better weight transfer.
The motor is moved 1,5" back for better weight transfer, and I run a fiber hood, alu bumper brackets and other tricks to lighten the front end.

My question is about the front springs - should I try a real soft coilover spring or just change to normal drag springs? When I race I run no front sway bar.

Let me hear your input - thanks.

I believe my front springs are 450#. I put 650# in it and it killed the 60’. Back to 450# springs and got the 60’ back.

And my car is all steel up front.

Thanks Jim. Viking suggested the 450 too. Do you run coilover or standard spring location?
