    So here goes!

i have a 67 skylark conv. NOT a GS. All stock running Buick Rally 14" rims 215/70/14 tires, I replaced all drum brakes with disc conversion. It went real well except the rears. After doing rears the 14" tires and rims would rub against the caliber. I replaced the rear rims with 15" and tires are 215/70/15 now I can't get the skirts on they rub against the tires. I also noticed that when doing this conversion that the rear is a Limited Slip. Was this standard or was it installed later. Not sure.
Has anyone done this conversion and used a different size tire? Looks like I need about .5" more space between the tire and the skirt.

Any help with this would be appreciated as it's real frustrating.

    Thanks

Jim, the original purchaser may have ordered the posi with the car. In 67 disk brake cars had non chrome wheels that had a different off set on them to clear the calipers. I am guessing that the disk bakes have moved the wheel outward and is pushing the wheel out so that it rubs. Check the offset. Later model 14 inch rims had a different offset and they may work for you. Jusst a guess.

Fred I'm thinking that that's is also. When I pulled the axles out to install the brake mounting hardware I notified no "c clips". Also there was a silver tag on the rear end. Rectangle silver that said "use limited slip diff oil". The ones I've seen from Buick are red and kind of triangle looking. The tag actually looks like a Mopar tag. And ideas?

Wouod you know what the measurement should be plate to plate without the brakes? Maybe I have a different rear in that is a bit wider?

    Thanks
    for the reply
