well the weather strip on the Rear side 1/4 windows has dried out so bad it's starting to come off in little pieces. Probably the original weather strip. It's dry and very brittle.

The new ones are so soft and NO cracks, LOL

    so here is my question

The chrome piece that goes around the rear driver side window holds that weather strip correct?

and that Chrome piece needs to come off in order to replace the new rubber, Correct?

is that chrome strip glued onto the rear side window?

there is a small seam in the chrome at the top of the rear side window does that separate or No?

I searched the site but found no Info on the driver side or passenger side rear 1/4 windows!

I sure could use to guidance on this one!

    Thanks Chris

That piece of rubber slides down to come out. The chrome stays on the window. You can usually put like a pr of pliers on it, pull straight down and it will come right out. There is no glue holding it in. There were a few versions of weatherstrip made for that ap, the best ones have a steel core that holds them in better and makes installation easier. W/o looking at my car, I can't say for sure if you can do it without taking off the seal on the jamb or moving the glass up or forward first. I think you can do it w/o removing anything if you put the window up. Done a wazillion of them, but always as part of a bigger project.

I had to get new pieces for my 71 and the replacements came complete with the weatherstrip attached to the chrome. There is a rubber insert that goes between the chrome and the glass to hold the chrome on the glass. You put the rubber insert on the lead edge of the glass and then press fit the chrome on top of that.
