Need Help W/ Flywheel!!!!!!!!!

    72buick350 i love my BUICK

    I WANT TO MY 72 LARK TO A MANUAL TRANS, I FOUND A FLYWHEEL FOR ABOUT 30 BUCKS, HE SAID IT CAME OFF A EARLY 70'S BUICK198 CID, WONDERING IF IT WOULD FIT MY 350, WILL IT FIT A 1 1/8 & 26 SPLINES TRANS???? NEED TO ACT FAST!!!!!!

    There is no such thing as an early seventies 198. The 198 V6 was an option in 62-63 Buick Specials and Skylarks. I THINK it had a different flywheel bolt pattern than the 350. They were popular transplants in Jeeps. In 64, the V6 got pumped up to 225 cid. It also got the common Buick V8 300\340\350 flywheel bolt pattern. IF, the flywheel is from a Jeep, it MIGHT be a 225 and it MIGHT have the right bolt pattern. Wish I could be more helpful.

    If the flywheel looks like the one in this link, it won't work. I do believe the Buick 215 V8 and the 198 V6 shared the same bolt pattern from 61-63. Notice it has a heavy outer ring on it while the one you require is flat.
