I had a bad experience two years ago..bought coil springs from a company in Detroit..supposed to be stock for my '72 Convertible. Had the springs put in (I can't do that!), and ended up with the rear end raised too high. Had the springs taken out amd then fought with these guys to get my money back. I still want to replace the sagging original springs (they went back in!). I have someone now who would use Spicer springs. I have no info on how good/bad these springs are or if they will setup the heights correctly. Anybody got either info on Spicer springs or any other info on how to get the correct ride height without going through supplier-torture! Thanks, Stanley
You should always replace springs as a set, front and rear. I would suggest you get them from AutoZone. I order mine from them and I believe they are Eibach. Good quality. Price for front is $80-90 and rear is $40-50.
Hi Stanley - I hope all is well. I don't know about Spicer springs, but I've gotten MOOG springs from www.espo.com and all 4 cost about $160. Ride height is stock, and others here have used this same company. <img src="http://www.v8buick.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31713">
constant rate? Hi Marco.. Long time, now. Hope all is well with you. Did you use constant rate springs or the cargo coil variable rates? I am wondering if the cariables will sit higher in the rear, without any load? Stanley Also, does Moog still make all our old part #'s? I had heard they condensed their catalog.
Hi Stanley - I have the variable rate springs - Front 5450 $90 Rear CC501 $60 So far, no problems :TU:
