Where can i find a smaller temperature sensor? I tried 1.7 of an inch and 1.6 of an inch and neither could fit with out me having to file the sensor end down to the little spring that was inside of them and neither work now since i filed them down.
This is the t fitting i used because both my lines are 6an fittings. Anybody have a better idea of better t fitting to order then these otherwise smaller sensor?

Anybody know where i can get adapters to go from 5/16 to 6an on each end?

I been searching all over online and can't find any thing that will make the ends go 5/16 to 6an to fit my transmission cooler and transmission lines for the t fitting. I installed it so i can monitor the temperature of my transmission fluid.

I put the sender in the pan. That is the oil that is picked up by the pump, and will be the most informative number.

If you sample the out line before the cooler and see overly high temps, 280F and up. You had a problem already and all it is telling you is to put the car in the hanger on jacks, and pull the transmission.

My '68 Skylark (BBB/TH40 Switch Pitch) runs about 140-160F measured at the pan.
(Deep sump, large stacked plate cooler).

I agree, put the sender in the pan, as that’s the oil circulated thru the trans.
