I need to rebuild the starter on my 64 Wildcat. As far as I know the starter is original to the car (110,000 miles). I prefer to rebuild the starter myself rather than buy a reman but am looking for a source of quality parts (made in USA) such as bushings, brushes, insulators, bendix, and solenoid...maybe others. It seems like NORS may be the way to go. Does anyone know of current production parts made in the USA?

Not to discourage you from doing it yourself but there are local shops that still do rebuilds. They might also be a source for parts. Here in the Boston area I've use Chelmsford electric to rebuild a few things including one of my powe window motors. Like you, not a fan of the commercial rebuilders that mix and match random parts that may or may not fit your car.
