According to the service manual, the front rocker stand has a slightly larger hole to allow for the oil flow to the rocker shafts. In addition, the shaft itself has a notch in it that has to be positioned at the top for proper placement. When I look at the part numbers on the rocker stands, they all have the exact same part number. Short of measuring the diameter of the bolt hole, how would one know which rocker stand to place in the front position? Seems like a machine shop or a layperson like me could easily get them out of position. Anyone care to offer their opinion/advice? Thanks, J.R.
That's what I find so interesting. Even thou they have the same part number, the bolt hole on the front mount is bigger for the oil to pass thru. How would someone know and how did the factory worker know which one to mount in the front when they were being assembled.
