Well, I've been freezing my ass off working on the Apollo this morning and wouldn't you know it...I bought the cal-tracs and was going to stick with my original leaf springs...thought it'd be easy enough :Dou: After having to get a hacksaw to two of the bolts on the same side, I finally got the spring pockets off. Then when installing the subframe connectors I soon realize I have to grind about 1/4" to 1/2" off each connector for the pockets to fit. I then fit them up again and realize that there is no way I'll be able to fit a wrench on the nut on the other side because of the geometry of the pocket...I guess I'll have to weld the nut onto the other side of the pocket....but this is the whole reason why I wanted bolt in connectors...I don't know how to weld. On to the next problem, I can't get the old bushings out of the damn leafs. I'm guessing a neighborhood mechanic will be able to get this done for me, but at what cost...probably be a lot easier and less frustrating just buying a set of mono leafs and putting them on now. Oh well...I'm a little less pissed now, maybe I'll go back ou and re-assess everything in a few minutes. I just really want to get the thing back on al 4 tires.
