After two 64 Chevelles, and saying that I will never mess with doing restorations again, I couldn't help it and I had to have my real dream car, a 1965 Buick Skylark. What an A-body jewel the designers at Buick created. As far as an early muscle car goes, to me it is perfection. It has the type of aggressive styling you would want a muscle car to have, all in a perfect sized body. IMHO It is better looking than it's brother the Chevelle, as well as the GTO. I actually like the regular skylark compared to the GS, because I think they did a better job on the exterior chrome, especially the side molding. I just got this decent 1965 Skylark last week, and it needs a little more than I thought it didou:, but it is a good solid car. I like to get cars that haven't been fully restored, that way it is a clean piece of canvas that I can make into anything I want. In this case I was lucky enough to get one that is completely original. It is missing some parts though. These are the annoying, non reproduction things like a steering console to dash cover, lighter, rocker panel, tail light, gas tank vent tube, dash trim logo, and side molding clips (This is just the stuff that I can see). Hopefully some of you guys on this forum can help assist me in locating some of these parts. Thanks for checking out my thread, and I'm glad to be a part of the V8Buick Forum!!
I figured you were close by... I remember your car from CL recently. You'll have to bring it to the "All Buick Show" in Puyallup next month. I'll probably have both of my 65s there this year. Also, I may have some of the parts you need. Jeff ~

Thanks for the helpful info guys, as you can tell, I'm new to the world of Buick. Hopefully I can have it ready to go by the time of the Buick show. It has some pretty bad water leaks, and it has a little bit of rust that needs to get taken care of if it's going to survive up here in "Rainville" WA. So Right now i'm having some body work done on it, and getting it painted. The guy told me it should be done in a month, so hopefully he'll come through on his estimated turnaround time.ray: If not, I'll definitely still come check out the show, and hopefully meet some of you guys.
Huh, yours too? I bought my first '67 thinking I'd just need some patch panels, ended up needing a whole new car :spank: Or in my case, show up looking for a set of wheels and end up parting a car out. All kidding aside, Brian is top notch. :TU: Oh yea, Welcome to the board!
That's pretty funny, at least the car was parted, and it went towards "the cause". but man that sucks, what was it? a broken framed, rust bucket, bondo mobile? I shouldn't be so quick to speak, my body guy should be calling me any day after he gets the paint stripped down with some, without a doubt, "good" news.. I can tell already mine has taken a mild blow to at least the rear end/quarter, the rust isn't too bad though.
well it looked good on the outside, but lots of hidden rust it would have needed new fenders, rear 1/4s, floor was rusted out,bottom of the doors, trunk floor..and then when we started tearing it apart found bondo, and even metal tape that was cover holes and painted over. I mean pretty much everything. and it was a 4-dr so debatable as to whether it was worth saving. Engine and trans only had 75k on them, so pulled them and found my current car which was rust free and had no trans/engine. But, yours looks in a heck of a lot better shape.
Way to go for it...I got mine just a few weeks before yours...loving my life, every time I go to the grocery store.
Yeah great job! Looks great to me. From what I've read here about the 65's the fact that you still have an unadulterated hood emblem is half the battle.
I've been busy the past couple of days, but I wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome! I'm definitely gonna have a few questions when it comes to this restoration, and it's good to know this board exists.
