Thee kill stories are really funny. Amusing reading.I’m a member of this site, BCA,2 Mopar sites Ford truck enthusiasts and MB world. Yep I have a 93 Sl 500 AMG twin turbo. Red.305 CI 5.0 liter runs mid tens on 335x20s. Almost 185 mph on I5 near Vancouver Washington measured by gps. Mercedes is a World class car with total capabilities. Not just a stoplight donk. No other website I’ve been in like to beat their own drums like Buick guys. You all sit around your screen and congratulate each other.Look on the Mopar or MB sites,no mention of Buicks at all. Especially Mercedes people,as a group they really don’t care. Show some class people.

 

Yeah I agree Rich, it is amusing reading and frankly I like to look through the stories occasionally. Though it's apparent we beat our own drums, we do so because we are essentially underdogs. Everyone and their grandma knows that Street Hemis will beat most things in a race, so when one Mopar enthusiast brags consistently, they come off as a tool to others. It's expected that they will win. What's generally not expected is a Buick winning a race, and I imagine some of the guys on here carry a little spite towards other brands because Buicks never have gotten the recognition/respect of the other brands. Just my 2¢, and I don't speak for everyone, but I speak for what I know. (Which if you decide to use this against me, I don't know a ton.)

Well Richard Albon,yes your car is kind of fast,but you forget to mention that your car's weight is less then half of that Buiick and the Buick has no power adders.By the way,my car 25 years ago,with a weight of 3400 with the 165 pds driver with stock Buick heads and no power adders went 9.70 in English Town.And the power to weight ratio is most likely double your car,and you have 2 power adders,as 2 turbos.You had better go back to school and learn something before you open you big mouth.By the way,I am 82 years old and I bet I can still kick your car with my 2900 car that runs 9 low teens,with no power adders.Bruno.

 

My car weighs a little over 4,000 with me in it. It’s a very solid built heavy car with full options. Not a cheaply built car. 305 cubic inches 4spd auto with 2.72 rear gear. I can drive it daily or cross country. Yeah,you really got me.

 

Why don't you take the 2 turbos out and come out racing like we do,muscle to muscle,I'll take you on with my 47 years old car,my 47 years old engine and heads and crank and all also just as old.And my 70 GS is 4100 with me in it.Bruno.
