my 350 DOES have some balls!

  1. I bought my 68 GS last fall, and have been babying it around, for a month last fall, and just got it running again this spring a week ago. Took it for a little drive tonight, and without smashing the gas too hard from a stop, easily chirped the 2.56 posi rear, with a TH350. I am a bit worried about the noisy driver side though... and only about 14,000 on the rebuild in '96. And I don't have the shop facilities to tear it down, or the experience. Just have to see how it holds up I guess. Just a driver, but I like to open the secondaries from time to time

don't worry about babing it, it can take it. I've owned mine for a little more than 2 years. I haven't yet had a problem cause by my lead foot. My secondaries open up every time I drive my car. It had 67,000 miles being driven by an old man, for the last 30,000 miles it's been driven hard, very hard.
It's funny how traction is a problem with 2.56 gears... hehe, you're lucky you've got a posi, with stock size tires I couldn't put it more than 1/2 way down without spinning... even from a little roll it would make em spin.... 245/60r15 fixed that tho....
Of course don't hammer it to much till you find out what that noise it... could be just a exhuast leak...
