FYI………On the Holley site they marked down some Mr Gasket 400 & 430 head gaskets to under $11 https://www.holley.com/products/clearance_parts/parts/3243G
Well darn, 24 days ago I saw that Holley had been marked these down to $32 so I bought a couple of sets for a 400 I will be building (a set to use and a spare set just in case I ever have to tear it apart). Now Holley has marked them down from $32 to $10. Just my luck. I also got a few other deeply discounted items (all non-Buick) at the same time.
Be aware these gaskets (#3243G) are intended for 400-430 since the gasket bore diameter is only 4.25” while the head gaskets for the 455 (#3244G) are 4.385” bore diameter and are still $108. I’d venture a guess that the 400/430 gaskets were very slow sellers and therefore Holley decided to clear them out.
Hey no worries I am glad others were able to take advantage I think I have some old NOS ones to use in my rebuild. That price was incredible!
I would have never guessed these are sold as single head gasket. I thought they would be pairs. I ordered 2 and they cancelled one.
I looked at the packaging last night and it is misleading since it says "HEAD GASKETS" the the top which implies more than one but the small print below shows "Qty 1" Well I'm glad I ordered an even number of them. I bet they sold very few of these 4.25" bore gaskets at the full price of $214 a set.
