Not very formallar with Dodge, turns out that you can put a 383 Mopar intake on backwards.

I had to do more trial and error to get it to fit the correct way.

Not fun when the engine is in the car :af:

What i hate about my buddies 68 is you can't get a male terminal cap and plug wires work loose and foul the plugs and number 3 is a beast to change with headers in a charger. what other problem you having. 2 and 4 suck to with alternater on

Looking at the pictures now I wonder why I did not catch the fact the intake was backwards (carburator mount). It was not until I was reading Hot Rod that I thought something was not right.

Should have it back together for spring to beat up on the brand Xes

Not to sound stupid but does an spx not work As good?

    Not stupid at all.

I wish I had an SPX intake to compare the flows.

It would be easier to just bolt one up, but I also like the chalange and to be different.

Do you have back to back tests? because the Mopar intake looks sick

Only have it roughted in now. I will take it all apart and make it pretty when it goes back together for good.

Hood clearance is only one reason I am making the change. The second is that I am going from a duel-plane intake to a single-plane (Torker Two). When I want to change the hood, I will go to the Victor Junior.

So far, the bonnet was just touching the hood now it is 1/2 inch away.

I did not want to cut my VFN stock flat hood or add at least a cowl to it.

me too. I hit into a couple runners while cutting on the intake and had to take it to someone to get them fixed.

One of my next big shop tools.

    I know a guy

I had to take the intake to someone to get that fixed. It is the only welding I have had to do so far.

I hate paying someone to do something I can do only if I had the tools. That is why I want to get one a practice.

I have looked into getting one and $1100.00 is how much it is going to be just to get started.

My buddy has a machine that will tig but i just don't know how. can you not just run the water hose s from the front? or is that from the backwards install

I'm curious as to what a Mopar intake flows compared to a Cool Runner/SPX?
