My Mom, Joanne Smith, passed a few days ago after a sudden massive stroke...78 years young. She knew her Lord well, so Mom is in a good place Dad will be okay, but after 60 years together, is understandably shaken. He loved this beautiful Lady through thick and thin...what an amazing testament to what a marriage should be! Prayers for him would be appreciated! Attached are some pics of Mom...and Dad and us four boys. From the time she was 13, as a college kid on the California beach, etc....my daughter (Kellie) and her fiance (Matt) were helping going through the pics to display at the service. Matt told Kellie "Man....your Grandma was HOT!" Made me laugh:laugh: There is even one with a partial shot of my first vehicle...a 1965 Gran Sport....I miss the car, but that is just a possession that can be replaced. Mom can never be replaced....we will miss you, Mom.
Cole,it looks like we are both #3 of 4 boys. Thanks for sharing, your Mom looks like she lived a wonderful life. You and yours are in our thoughts...
Cole, I am sorry to hear the sad news. Mom looked like she was a busy and happy women. She had to be very special to handle 5 men in the same house! Glad to see you remembering the great times you had together.
Prayers for you! My folks are 83 and 80 and dread the thought of losing one, not sure how each would handle it. Take care.

Cole, Very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I'm glad to hear she is now in the presence of the Lord though....that's the only thing that helps ease the pain. Prayers for your Dad, all you boys, and the rest of your family & friends. My sister sang a song (below) at my Grandmother's funeral, back in '98. It is called 'If you could see me now' - by Don Moen. It's a beautiful song with very comforting lyrics. I hope it's ok to post here...if not, please let me know. http://youtu.be/QICc9bCRbTM
Thanks again, everyone. And thanks for the link, Scott. I had not heard that song before....the lyrics are great My dad asked me to sing a couple of songs at mom's service...not easy, but did it for dad. I played the piano and sang I Can Only Imagine (Mercy Me) and I Will Rise (Chris Tomlin)....songs of that same sentiment. Thanks again:gp:
