Push down on the trap b4 u pull it out and put a garden spade on both sides of the trap in the tunnel. A lot of time they will work their way out of the trap (more on the spiked traps than the scissor type ) but it can happen. Go to ur newest run and step it down just an inch or 2. Give it 30/40 minutes and u will see movement then chop the lil bastard with a flat edging shovel

    Question for Greg:
Pretty Thick mixture, you fill rest of Ortho sprayer with water to thin it?

Yes, I assumed that part. I should have put that in. The dishwashing detergent is to disperse the castor oil.

    Got cha...
One batch of spray down. Covered the frt lawn & infested area, shrub beds, & one side plus beds in back. Ran out. Mixed 10 oz dish soap to 6 oz Castor oil.
    Maybe need a second application?
Greg, did you water this in after applying to wash it in deep?

I have had a little success forcing them to the surface by pushing the dirt they pushed up back down their hole with water from a garden hose. Trying to drown them I have found is a waste of time, but add some dirt and it fills their hole around them and they try to leave by coming to the surface. I then stomp the little critters with the heal of my boot. This only seems to work where they are burrowing under concrete. Also works on ground squirrels. Will not work on a well established run.

Update: No action with traps. Sprayed Greg's castor oil mixture over lawn & shrub beds. You can really smell that aroma!
Have poison worms & Juicy fruit gum in multiple tunnels. Also sprinkled coffee grounds all around shrub beds.
They might be dead in tunnel, (good!) or just took off because my yard stinks now.:D:D, but at least something has worked as a deterrent or they've enjoyed the poison worms & Juicy fruit...:D:D

Really treat your lawn for grubs. If you do that there is no food for the moles and they will not be there.

Saw this work on mice no proof for moles.
Sweetest cheapest muffin mix from Wally World.
    Mixed with baking soda.
    Mice cant fart. They explode.
Not sure if moles can fart, so may not work.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Rodenator pro is awesome and even though I don't have a need to kill my moles, it makes me want to.

Moles are carnivorous, so they don't eat roots or muffins.

Last year For several weeks , at night, I would regularly see a fox rooting up moles and eating them. After a while I didn't see any sign of moles or the fox. Evidently the fox lives in some woods across a busy road behind my house. The neighbor between me and the fox is the Electric Company's substation

Get yourself a Skunk. They will bore little holes in your yard and eat the grubs and remove all the food that the Moles like to eat. I had a nice little Skunk that use to feed in my yard everyday. He would show up around 8:00 am and eat for two or three hours then waddle off until the next day. The Moles disappeared, my yard looked great and life was good, until my wife started complaining about the Skunk that was starting to take up residency outside our door. She almost stepped on the little fellow a couple of times and then I had to re-home him to a shallow grave here on the farm.
Whit the Skunk gone this year, the Moles came back and tonight she started complaining about them and asked what my plan was for eliminating them.
I think I will try some of the methods listed within the post above. Maybe the wife will be more acceptable to an odorless method.
