    Memory Problems

    Hey Adam,
Nice bunch of pictures but there is one of us racing and it seems that with age my memory is failing but I had a different version of it in my mind.:Brow:

    Go figure...
Oh what the heck, Bruce probably has video of me telling lies too. :Dou:

    Chris,
You caught me. If he posts the time slips with my reaction times I'll fudge them too.:Dou: Truth is I had more fun racing Adam than should be allowed. We had one where we were literally door handle to door handle and couldn't tell who won until I got the darn yellow time slip.

    HA! That's pretty good:grin:

We raced 5 times against each other, and I got you 3 out of 5 times. That one was a nail biter to the end!!

    .02 difference:jd:

    Correction

    Adam,
Almost but not quite. I have five time slips and three of them are white kill slips while two are those awful yellow copies that go to the slower car. Two of my wins are against you and one was the green boat tail, never got to meet the owner. My two yellow slips are both from you so that means our score is 2-2. I'll take it for now but you better watch out next time. I've got plans for a quick disconnect windshield washer jug.
BTW, thanks for posting the great pics. :beer

HAHAH!! Good one about the washer jug:laugh: I remember now...I went up against that blue wagon! he ran like a 17 something. Pretty good for a honkin' 55. I wanted to race the boattail...I got nervous after my last run. I thought I broke something, but I was just stupid. Too much too fast.

I guess we'll have to settle the score with another race in 04 at the BPG nats:beer :Brow:

The old school skylark belongs to Chris Taubitz. Chris is Joe Taubitz's ( drove the Buick Bug ) son. Built the whole car for less than I have in my new rear end. Used my old rear end and suspension components, one of dads motor and tranny setups from the barn and then beat me up with it :ball:

My first time at the track. Ran a 14.1 with terrible 60 ft (2.2) times. Will be back with converter to get me off the line.

    It was a great time!

When I saw Chris's car pulling into the pits the first thing I had to do was drag my son and my camera over to get pictures and explain the "gasser" to my 17 year old. That car is sooooo cool looking! I love the stacks and the fenderwell headers. I little tlc to the paint and he's gonna have something to stop traffic with for sure. I love the name too.

:beer I know what you mean about the paint. A friend of mine offered to paint it, but it would have cost more for the supplies than budget would allow!! So went to K-Mart and bought $50.00 worth of sray bombs to at least make it look good going down the road(LOL). As Doug said, it is an EXTREMELY low budget car, but it is more fun to drive than I could have ever imagined!:bglasses: Thanks for all the great comments and pics, hopefully we'll be in the 12 sec range @ Norwalk in 2004!
By the way, the green boattail is owned by Jerry Vavro, my Uncle:grin: He had a blast too!!See you all soon.

    Can I steal your Pics?

Hey Adam, can I put your pictures on the BCA web site?? and also send them to the BUGLE editor for possible publication, with credit of course? Chris' gasser is way cool, and will be even cooler with the cam change he and the Old Guy have planned! RV

    Roberta,

Feel free to take any of the myou want. I might have a few in high resolution also.

What is the Bugle's email address? Or snail mail? I can burn a CD and send them out. The Gateway chapter is doing an article on the event also.
