It is nearing the time to order a fuel pump and regulator for my car. I have talked to 3 people about the Magnafuel MP4450 fuel pump and the Magnafuel MP 9945 regulator. I plan to install the pump in the trunk and run -8AN to the inlet and -10 an return from the fender mounted regulator. Of the 3 opinions I got, 1 good,1 bad and 1 so-so.Does anyone have experience with these? I'd like to have a black pupm and regulator but the black version is $140 more. I can live with the blue for that coin..

That regulator won't work. You need the aeromotive one with the return.

Yes the 500 pump is enough.
But you need larger line. 8 is too small and it will starve the motor.

I have a big 280 and I'm running the same size lines. I've not heard anything bad about the pumps

Is the tank/cell in the trunk? All of these pumps do better at pushing than pulling.

My suggestion is the aeromotive Eliminator pump,..-12 feed to pump,..-10 to reg,..-8 to the bowls,..-10 return

If you plan on much street driving a fuel pump controller is a good idea or go with the Holley Dual Dominator pump and activate the second at 2psi

Another option is the complete aeromotive cell with the pump submerged,..then you can have no worries about fuel temp

Fuel system is something you overbuild imo

As Brian mentioned having the pump gravity fed is very important,..I've ran the aeromotive A1000 a little above the stock tank with a sump and as long as the tank was half full it would push fuel up to the pump,...it worked fine but having below to tank is best,...a cell in the trunk and mount the pump on the frame rail,..or on the trunk floor would be the best approach

I have an A1000 mounted inside a Rick’s Hot Rods tank, under the car. That has a 10 supply with 8 return.

I can echo the quality of Aeromotive wiring and electrical components. I just finished installing their Pump Speed Controller in my 71 Pro Touring. As Hugger pointed out you may want to use one of these if you street the car, especially with a higher volume pump. Saves on pump wear and also produces less pump heat.

What is the consensus of the Aeromotive Eli.inator fuel pump? There is a fellow racer that has a lightly used one for $450 I can probably get. I realize that it's suggested to run a 10 micron filter before the pump and a 100 micron filter after and that will add some cost compared to the MagnaFuel pump, but if it's worth it,it might be a better deal.

You won't hardly anyone here that's run one simply because it's WAYYYY more pump than any NA Buick build could ever need

I had one that I was gonna run on my twin turbo tomahawk,...I was expecting 1500hp on pump 93 with Fuel injection and it was more than capable

Looks like I am going to jump in and buy this pump for $450 bucks. I will also add an Aeromotive 13202 regulator that should be sufficient.
