Has anyone with a 65 Skylark w/300 bought lowering springs?I would like to lower my front end about an 1",what would you guys recommend?I don't want to lower it too much because I have full length headers and I don't want to scrape them.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also are there any suggestions on how to get rid of the saggy-a** look?I put new heavy-duty springs in the rear and it still sits about an 1" lower than the front. :blast:
    Thanks,
    Philip

Call Global West and see what they have to say. They did a lot of great stuff with a 65ish Tempest. It looked great too (I know, its engine was heavier than yours, so Im not sure how well it will work).

Yea,thats what I'm worried about.I was also thinking of getting 2 1/2in drop spindles, but I really don't want it so low that I have to worry about what I'm driving over(speed bumps)i was thinking 2 1/2in drop springs would probably only lower the car an inch because the 300 is so light.
    Thanks,

I used Hotchkis springs in my '70. They are the "Small Block" springs but still sit up a bit too high because of the lightness of the Buick 350 compared to the other small blocks.

I think with the drop spindles you may be in the correct position with stock springs, but I can't verify how much ground clearance you'll have.

Call them, Im sure they'll have some input here.

Well as it sits now, with no hood or bumper. It has about an inch between the fender lip and the tire, which is a massive 235/75r15,so I know when I put 205/60r15's the gap is only going to get bigger..

The hood and bumper will make a big difference - thats quite a bit of weight right there, especially for stock spring rates.

CAll them with the weight of your 300 (sorry I dont know it off hand??) and tell them your concerns, they most definitely have had issues like this before (aluminum heads, etc) and should know. I'd help more but its a bit difference since I have a '70/350 instead of an earlier skylark with the 300 ?

Well I just found rallys I think I'm going to buy.So once I get my tires mounted on them and put them on the car,I'll see what it looks like.Even with me siiting on the front-end(190lbs),the front end doesn't go down an inch.My dad said he put a/c springs on it.but the a/c stuff isn't on there anymore.

Also the rear is saggy. But he supposedly put new springs all around and there supposed to be cargo springs in the rear.I've got bags back there now.So I'm mostly concerned about the front because I can adjust the rear until I figure out whats goin on back there.
