How did this thread derail to Wayne's car getting banned from F.A.S.T. ? Nobody from F.A.S.T. has said anything like that ......

Wayne - you may wanna jam that 100# chunk of lead back in the car to slow it down a touch so that you can have some closer racing ......

After you`ve been beating this safty drum for years now, I just noticed your signature 11.24!! (nice ET) PLEASE tell me your not the biggest hypocrite on the internet? PLEASE tell me you have a roll bar in this car. I do notice the smile. Probably because you just ran at the NSCA all year without the needed safty equipment. ou: o No: Tell me this car does have a bar......What a joke. This is great.. Worry about your own car keith, for god sakes you don`t even race in these classes. I do like the car though. :Smarty:

You're absolutely right Dave, my car didn't have a bar last year. I only broke out of the 11.50 bracket 1 time and lost a race because of it.
The 11.24 came in testing in October last year. That was the reason for adding a bar. The track asked me to leave after 2 11.24 runs in a row. I also added an electric fuel pump cut off button that can be reached easily by the driver, full faced helmet to keep glass out of my eyes (I only have two!!) and 4 wheel disc brakes to stop the pig.

You're also right that I don't race your class, I am happy racing where I race. I don't make the rules or have any thing to do with enforcing them. When people are faster than me I work harder, I don't run them out of the class for chicken s**t reasons because I "underestimated" them.

I have witnessed a couple of pretty severe crashes and because of it I have changed how I do things. The people that skirt the safety rules or just blow them off because the track passed the car are only putting themselves and other racers in jeopardy. Because I don't race your class I know that it won't be me or my friends that you hurt. That is the beauty of a real sanctioning body looking after things.

Try to get your car insurance to fix a car or your health insurance to fix your body when you were participating in an auto race. Read the fine print, unless you declare that you do it before the rates are quoted life insurance won't pay either.

Yes Wayne, a while ago. It was over the ever controversial "Richard Petty vinyl top thread".
I posted as a reply to someone else that Petty tried it in 68 but never again. Deleted and banned.
