The Engine is not for sale. The body and frame are rough but could be saved I am sure they could be purchased but he will want a mint for it. Don't be surprised with an 8K asking price. SpeedyGump
OK well that changes a lot without the engine, the body and frame would be of no interest to my buyer looking a a stage 1 project.
LOST SS BLOCK 70 GSX 4 spd. Stg 1 ,- # 298529 Bought the car out of North VERNON IND in 1985. I bought it from Rick Patterson who found it on a used car lot in Ohio (early 80's ), not sure if the original engine was in the car at the time. It had 102k miles( hard Miles)on it. Thanks Bill
SpeedyGump1 i just noticed that you posted here. My the motor in my car was pulled in the late 70's early 80's You want to check with you buddy that has the GSX and check the vin on that for me. If it matches let me know. If not OK.
Not sure if it works or not. It came off a zs code engine that i bought from him. The motor ran good and the trans was still hooked to it . He said it came out of a 74 gs Riv.Oh and no tourqe converter. And it is the short shaft. Serial number 74BB1182
What is a Stage 1 block worth? I have one from my Uncle's '70 Stage 1 auto that was wrecked in the late 70's. I am 99% sure the car no longer exists. He pulled the motor, interior and some other things and sent the car to the junkyard. The block is at my parent's place, so I'll get the #'s and report back next time I'm over there, but I highly doubt the car exists.
Matt. Value would depend largely on condition. Assuming it does not have exsessive over bore already and/or has not had the stampings removed by decking it could bring quite a sum. Let me know what you find. I am interested.
