Dr, this has by far been the most emotional year of my life, the work load of keeping up with my house along with moms and both my sisters, isn't bad.....I was doing 90% of that any how......Thanksgiving was pretty rough on mom......its normally all the family. Not only were we missing dad, but both my brother and older sister had to quarantine do to exposures at their work places.....so that was even harder on mom.

I'm not looking forward to Christmas, the kids of the family are of course all excited and trying hard to not rain on their happy time. But for me personally I feel like a sinking ship inside.....luckily for me about 90% of whatever I did in life dad was there with me and I will treasure every minute of it.......but now almost everything I do feels odd and off. Walking into work is about like getting my heart ripped out everyday.......I find myself still crying many times a week......
I worked up enough nerve and got my mind set I was going to go to clay city racing in October, it was dads favorite race......well my wife came down with covid and spent 5 days in the hospital and I lost about 24days of my life doing the correct thing self quarantining....I haven't even opened the car trailer since.

As of right now the only thing keeping me going is the fact that I'm now the cornerstone that most of the family needs to be there no matter what........but its the spot he spent the last 40 years training me to do.......and I now have to mold the next generation with all the same info and morals he shared with me.

I have honestly never felt so empty and alone most of the time.......even while being surrounded with ppl. But so far its left foot, right foot, today, then tomorrow and forward is still tbe direction of travel.

Thanks for asking.......now back to the subject of this thread

I have been following in other post about "dealing with your lose". I wish I had words. Talk to a professional is all I can suggest. If you are ever in Medina County stop over. Not much to see at my place but I can listen

Thanks brother, right now trying to do the right thing and stay as local as I can.

I'm at this time not going to go talk to a shrink.....i dont have the funds and had bad past experiences.....I'm not going nuts, not going to off myself. I know what I need to do and what he wants me to, but its for sure not easy.......but I'm not the first or last to walk this path, and the good man above only gives us as much as we can handle.......so if he thinks I can do it,then Im just going to keep on going

Myself, I dont think you're gonna find one. I did ask in my shop for one but I think they hold it for kid left it long ago. Also I would say boneyards can sell everyone that comes in complete I haven't seen any in local yards. I have seen blocks with split cylinders- cracks on deck surface + all were repaired. Its a smart move to seek one out. I hope you find one. Where you located?

I'm home schooling my kids most days.....its just a few phone calls, besides it does a business good to jeep in contact with the local yards.....I haven't been doing much work since all this its a good excuse to talk so they don't think im closed down.

Cores usually sell for $50. Or at least that is what the scrap guys give me. Just got $100 for two complete 4.8s that were clinging a little too long in my shop.
