After some digging, I finally found out which dealership my Electra was sold to! Cunningham Buick - Oldsmobile of Burlington, Wisconsin. Alas, I cannot find said dealership through any search engines I've tried. I can find history on the dealership going back to the 1920's but nothing recent. Does anyone here know of this dealership? Did it change names maybe, or is it long gone?

Here is an old ad of Cunningham Buick from the 50s. It was located at 459 Jefferson Street in Burlington,Wi.

It appears that Epping Investments DBA Cunningham Buick was dissolved in 2003. I suspect Epping acquired it from the Cunningham family-- perhaps in 1969.

It appears to me that the original Cunningham Buick Building may have been demolished. A used car dealership called Rogers is there now. Maybe someone on the Board remembers it. It was very close to the river.

Jim, thanks for the info. More research shows the Epping family bought the dealership sometime in the 1990's. The location where my car was sold is now apartments. I don't believe Epping Buick is still operating today.

Oddly enough I have family on WI not too far away from Burlington. Even more Ironic, the relative I called to ask if he recalled Cunningham Buick not only knew the dealership, but bought a Regal new from Cunningham in 1979! He is the one who tipped me off that the Epping family bought the Cunningham family out. Sadly, any number I've found for Epping Buick has been disconnected.

    Try these for Tim Epping

    (262) 534-5551

    (262) 763-5269

    (414) 763-9753

I now see that its former location is across the strret from the used car lot. If you look at the location now on Google street view, the old dealership building must have been razed a long time ago.

Why do you want to get in touch with them?

They probably have no records of your car.

I used to work at Cunningham Buick in 1976. A nicer place to work you never saw. Mr. Cunningham was killed while crossing the street in front of the dealership on May 15, 1969. Vic Epping was the owner when I worked there. A finer man never walked the planet. He sold the dealership to his son, Tim when Vic retired. They enjoyed an absolutely fantastic reputation as a dealership. I bought one car while I worked there (a 73 Regal) and my parents bought three over the years.

Cunningham Buick is long gone, it became Epping Buick as stated and eventually went away probably in the early 2000's. The building is still there but was remodeled into a bank and has been a bank ever since. If you google Burlington Wisconsin Historical Society then click on Galleries and look through the Burlington Businesses, there is a photo of Cunningham Buick back in its prime you can check out. I didn't look through every photo on the site but there is for sure one from back in the day. You are a block off on your location, the building is for sure still there and sits right across the street from the Burlington McDonalds, the car lot part of it is ironically mostly just useless parking spaces that nobody ever uses. This is merely speculation, but if I had to guess as to what happened to them, Burlington had a bigger and better location GM dealership in Lynch Chevrolet, I do not remember specifically, but I would wager Lynch became the Buick/Olds dealer as soon as Epping was done.
