In a perfect world it would be a 70 and have a gold top and gold interior and be a stage 1 car.
I know that is a rare combo but it never hurts to ask. I don't care if it is an auto or 4 speed, and I don't care if it has ac or not. I would prefer it to be a good number 2 car either restored or original.

Second pick would be burnish top and interior. I'm putting this out there just in case someone might run across one. Please keep me in mind. Thanks!

I can't believe it, that car sold this week. It was 25 miles from me for years and at one time belonged to a good friend of mine. I never thought to tell him how much I wanted that color. Oh well, the hunt continues.

The car in tallahassee has not shipped yet, I'm going to be able to see it next week. I just want to know what I missed.

That's what I thought at 1st & could be mistaken but wasn't the one near him Desert Gold? This one is Coronet Gold. Maybe I just assumed it was Desert but the OP said he got to look @ it before it shipped so he'd probably know. Nice looking car regardless esp. w/o the requisite vinyl top. I contacted the seller for a better pic of the dealer invoice. Hard to make out beyond Stage 1/TH400/console/8-track.

    1970 GS455 Stage 1, Desert Gold

    https://www.tristateautoil.com/details/used-1970-buick-gran-sport/80830503

1970 Buick GS 455 2d Sport Coupe (#665) This is a real GS Muscle car see vin begins with a 446 numbers! 455 cubic inch Buick big block with fully functioning cold air induction system. Stage 1 360hp most say the Horespower exceeds 400+hp. The tranny is the TH400X auto with the very rare 12 bolt posi rear, only installed at the Farmingdale, Maine assembly plant. Options include: power steering, power disc brakes, working factory gauges, bucket seats, factory console, tinted glass, dual sports mirrors and chrome Buick Rallye wheels. The car is solid. The Desert Gold exterior paint work is in Very good condition along with all the chrome/glass/trim/weatherstripping/emblems. The Black interior features factory Black bucket seats with center console with infamies staple shifter, not to worry the interior is very clean and is very presentable. This Buick has tons of power and torque to plant back in the drivers seat. Factory rally Buick wheels with a great set of tires, This gentleman's muscle car drives/runs and stops great with reliability.

    Bit more information:

In 1970, General Motors pulled long-standing corporation-wide restrictions on engine displacement, allowing its various divisions to run wild with new powerplants ranging all the way up to 455 CI. In Buick’s case, this newfound freedom resulted in one of the most formidable machines of the first muscle-car era: the 1970 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1. The GS Stage 1 built on the basic formula established in the Gran Sport, whose new 455 CI engine was rated at 350 HP and an astonishing 510 lb-ft of torque, the latter figure all-in at just 2,800 RPM. This was the highest torque rating of any production car except the Cadillac 472 and 500 CI engines, and it was made possible through higher displacement, larger valves in high-flow heads, a performance cam and standard cold-air induction fed by twin hood scoops. The Stage 1 expanded those parameters with even better breathing, incorporating still larger valves with stronger springs for high-RPM reliability, revised porting, a radical new cam and a rejetted version of GM’s versatile Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor. The factory rated the Stage 1 at 360 HP, but most testers concluded it was more than 400.

That's probably the one that was near the OP. Sucks to pay the dealer markup but at least another chance to buy it! Make an offer. You only live once.

Thanks guys. Yes I did go look at the one that was close to me even though it was already sold.
The car advertised as a desert gold car looks like a burnish to me what do you think?
I had not seen the last one put up but it is not desert gold.
