that connects the brake arm and the rod that goes to the Power Brake Booster, anyone know where to get one beside a junkyard. Just got my 72 Skylark and did I get initiated into old cars this week. Master cylinder, brake booster both go out and come to find out, the booster that was on the car was wrong...
If you can wait a couple weeks I can get you one. The booster on my car will be changed to a gold-cad. booster. The new one has the bracket too but I won't part anything until the new one is installed. Let me know if you can wait & drop me a line in about three weeks. Car still in Winter storage.
On a booster, the arm that goes to the brake pedal is attached to the booster. On non power brakes its a seperate unit,if I'm not mistaken.
I think he's looking for the "U" shaped clevice that threads onto the end of the arm. Held there by a locknut, maybe two. Opposite end of the clevice has a couple holes, thru which a small pin is passed. The pin also passes thru the brake pedal arm structurs, up under the dash area.
Steve that would be great, I think I could rig something up till then, but so far no luck. My 1st try failed so back to the drawing board..
Yep, that is the part. Talked to the guy who I bought the car from and he talked to a Buick parts guy he knows (finds old buicks in junkyard and sells the good parts). He has a couple so I just need to drive to his house, thank for the offer Steve. I got this guys # so if anyone needs a hard to find part, he prolly has one. My buddy is getting a running 430 from this guy to put into his GSX clone he built.
