Is $35-40k a reasonable number for a nicely restored ‘67 GS 400 Vert? Asking because I just don’t know the market for them.

If it in fact has the "yellow" interior. it could well be 1 of 1 with the verde exterior

151 1967 gs 400 ragtops were built with yellow bucket seat interior. I dont know how many bench seat yellow were made.
I didnt see if u mentioned if it was bucket or bench.
I foumd this out after the parts car i bought was an original yellow bucket convertible.

Honestly forgot to ask. Maybe Bob remembers from when he saw it. Otherwise I'll be there tomorrow.

My dad had a Verde Green/Yellow interior GS400 when I was a kid. Convertible though, not a hardtop. I haven't seen that combo in the wild since about 1975.

Great color combo! I have a friend that has a Verde Green, Black Top and Black Bucket Seat interior 67 GS400 Convertible. It's a very striking color! I did not see any wheel opening moldings in the photos and those can be incredibly expensive to obtain especially the rear ones. I would ask about that. The price may seem high but if you restore one you will have that much or more in it when you are done. But who is ever "done"?

John do u have any pictures of the verde green of your friends? I have a shadow turquoise green and so does the other gary. Im curious what the verde looks like out in the sunlight. Im assuming its a darker shade?

What a beauty! Has he added that one to the 67 ragtop registry yet?

I am not sure. He is a very infrequent visitor to this forum so I don't know. Any 67 rag or just the GS welcome on the registry?

The intent of the registry is to catalog any remaining 1967 GS cars.

Thanks Nick! I thought so. My 67 GS should be on there and I do have a 67 Skylark convertible red on red with a white top and bucket seats with a long console. It also is a 340 four barrel car. All numbers matching Skylark! I call it my GS 340 convertible that Buick never built!

Initially it started as ragtops i believe and has now morphed into all 67 gran sports.
Ask your friend if he would be willing to add his.
All he would need to show is his trim tag and vin number to gary steele. If he didnt want it shown publicly then gary would use x's for the last 6 or 8 numbers of the vin on the registry.
Its neat how he has mapped out the different trim codes and which cars have them.
As of current i believe hes accounted for around 60 gs 400 convertibles.

I barely remember the car, I do remember it was an auto, makes mine the only 67 4-speed GS in town. I do recollect the quarter emblems were way off.

Well, I'm back.....ummmmm.....well.....I got a good shot of the VIN (real GS) and trim tag. Guy was more than happy to show and tell. Car has been to 3 different builders with bad results, and is now being done with the 4th, who is pretty well known around here, but no Buick expert by any means.

Doesn't know if engine or trans is the original but I got as good of pics as I could of the casting numbers. It is date correct for a '67 400 he states. Engine fired right up, no smoke, no weirdness. Trans goes forward and backward as it should. I didn't drive it, but I believe his statement that they're both rebuilt. Star wars air cleaner present and nice. He's quite certain as am I even knowing nothing about these that the carb is not original (see pic).

The undercarriage is super nice. Not original style exhaust, has small block Chevelle springs on it so it's low in front, but comes with correct springs. All painted nice and better than 95% of the cars out there. New pretty much everything, but not factory looking stuff (NOT custom, but repro style). Brakes, steering components, all suspension looks new, which he said it is. No rust to speak of on underside.

The interior is in good driver quality shape, nowhere near showroom, but you wouldn't be embarrassed by it. It is a light yellow. Very striking with the green paint. Dash and gauges are not detailed, looks original. No cracks or anything, but needs to be redone to be a real show ready car. Does not have the correct steering wheel. Crank windows, manual locks.

Body is super straight, had new quarters put on from previous mild collision on passenger side and did the drivers because they were there. Absolutely no rust present from visual inspection. Paint has a few nicks, a big 4" scratch where he hit it with his snow plow on the passenger front fender. He has the missing antenna, car has cheap pep boys wiper blades. Grille surround isn't straight. Glass is all in great shape. Missing rubbers between the rear quarter extensions and quarters. He has 1, but not both. He has NOS hood scoop inserts, the ones on it aren't real nice. All emblems look original, not show quality. Bumper chrome is good. Stainless trim has been polished and looks nice. Wheels are presentable (I don't know if those are the right center caps or not, as I don't know these cars that well). Doors open and shut very nice. Paint hasn't been cut and buffed but they did a nice job. He's going to fix the couple of nicks and the scratch then have it sanded and buffed when done, he said. He has all missing emblems and headlight surrounds. Surrounds were amateurishly restored, driver quality. I told him about the gto reverse lenses being the same and he promptly went and ordered a pair. The trunk looks fantastic, very nice. Top is ok driver quality, light staining, and works once he gets the leaking line fixed he states.

So, overall a good solid car that someone that isn't an expert would find very nice. Probably needs new interior, trim restoration, and some paint work to be show ready. To be 100% correct I'm sure it needs a lot more. I am super picky on paint and body, and I'd rate this a 7. Might be an 8 or 8.5 with the touch ups and fixes, but I've personally laid down better, and I think to be really happy at 35k (he says that's the price when "done" or he'll take it to auction) you would want to have it redone. Still cool seeing a rare piece today. Many pics to load, give me 10 minutes...

Carb is correct for 67. Side inlet and switch pitch linkage used in 66 and 67.
