Devcon is harder to grind with a carbide than JB weld .
I like the way you can smear booth & smooth . Just dip your finger in water and push in place . Splash zone works well also the same .
Major Head porters use Splash zone because it holds up well with fuel and vigorous conditions. Splash zone also sticks like mad to cast iron and aluminum .

I'm familiar with Devcon, I have used it in the past. Never heard of Splash Zone? Who makes it? Who sells it? TIA

Google it . you can buy it through west marine . If you go on to speed talk and search it you see guys like Darren Morgan from Rahearmorrison and others useing it in heads . My dyno guys has used it in cyclindrr head where the can't alum weld . He has an FE super stock engine that they filled the lower Block to reduce oil windage .

This may or may not apply and I'm not sure of your exact application, but I had considered either a lifter bore girdle or putty when I had a roller cam. The machinist advised that the block has to be baked to get the oil out of the cast iron or the Devcon wont adhere. My block was already .038 over and i couldn't re-bore and the heat would warp the cylinders. Ended up just keeping spring pressure to 500 over the nose and hoping for the best!

putty epoxy seems like using tape , just sticks to the outside. But if you can stick it to a hard hat and strap it on your head, then stick yourself to your ceiling , then hell it must work.

Custom lifter valley support. There is a series of triangle-shaped plates that were each fit to their location, welded to the main bar, then filled.
