Lee responded to my request in cars wanted and e mailed pic's and info on his 72 Skylark convert. Having gone and seem many cars that were disapointing to say the least, I can tell you Lee knows his buicks and was completely honest. It's a shame you had to sell, but she's in good hands. It was a pleasure doing business Lee. Dave :bglasses:
I haven't seen a car yet that Lee couldn't make look show quality. I've learned alot from him on the "details" side of these Buick's. :TU: Dave, Let's see some pictures of your new ride.
That 72 Skylark Convertible use to belong to OREgs, my brother. He sold it last year and the same day bought his 69 convertible.
More on Lee Lee used to have a 72 GSX clone that was some kind of green. He was a great showman and stood by his car constantly dusting it and talking it up to car show voters - and he often won ribbons and trophies even at B.O.P. shows where most of the Pontiac guys only voted for Pontiac's. Glad to hear he's still into Buicks. That 72 is one sweet and quiet ride. I wonder if IwannaGSconv is going to change his handle to IgottaGSconv.
Re: More on Lee It was a 71 GSX clone, with a 72 N25 bumper. Harold Lemay bought it several years ago. Check it out: :eek2:
Bacon's bumpers It sure could've been a '71 - I only remembered the 72 bumpers. I hope to see the car again at some of the NW shows and meets.
Re: Bacon's bumpers Although the car is now part of the largest private collection, it does not look as good as it did. One of the collections "employee's" keeps this car in his garage as his driver on nice days. The only way to see this car on display is at a Lemay sponsored event. There is only one that I'm aware of locally.
I drove the Baconmobile in Portland to see if I wanted to buy it before the collector bought it. It drove very nice. The only thing that bothered me about it that I can remember, is that I seemed to sit up too high on the bench seat. But other than that, it was a very nice clone of a non produced car.
You guy's are too kind in your compliment's!!! :TU: We had more fun with that car than any that i've owned to date & if i ever figure out how to post more pic's i will. :Comp: :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:
...and the blue stage 1, and the yellow gsx, and the 71 copper convt. with 20,000 miles. Quit selling and start driving!!! :TU:
