Hi, can someone help me with the position of the jack in the trunk of my 70' GS with a full size spare wheel?
The deck lid decal shows it under the spare wheel, but this looks like a space saver in the picture and not a 15x7 with a G60x15 tyre. This is for displaying at car shows. Thank you.

Good morning Mike from the UK! Yes, the Jack definitely goes underneath the tire, and your full-size tire should work. Do you still have the cardboard cover for the top of the tire? Having a G 60 X 15 tire might be a little tall for the threaded screw to hold onto the cardboard cover, but I think it will work.
PS, The crowbar is supposed to have a rubber boot that slides onto the jack. That keeps it from rattling around.
    Welcome to the V8forum!!!

    Hi John,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I have the rubber boot and the cardboard cover. If I place the jack under the wheel it pushes the tyre up against the metal support for the deck lid which moves the assembly slightly off line for the bolt (which I think is also to short). I am going to check this out again tomorrow and will post back!

The G60-15 tires require a 10” screw/hook to mount the spare tire board. This was the only tire size that required the longer bolt.

The nice thing is they sell these 10” bolt assemblies in the “help” section of the auto parts stores. The bad news is they are located in the USA.

If you need one, I am sure one of the guys here would be able to buy one and ship it over.

Thank you Duane, I thought the bolt was too short! Do I need the 10" bolt assembly part number?

I don’t know what the part numbers would be.

The spare tire hold-down assembly that I am talking about is in the “help” section in the auto parts stores. It is a 3 piece kit, with the rod, wing nut, and a spacer. I use only the rod and throw out the other pieces.

The “help” section is full of commonly needed pieces, so if you have a small issue with something you can usually find “the fix” there.

Thank you PGSS for the pics.
Hi Duane, I have looked on the RockAuto web site with no luck, can you recommend an auto store?

    Yep, I think that’s it.
I used to supply the rods to the guys with the GSX’s if they could not find the correct length rods. The rest of the kit was junk, but the rods…………

I would always bring a few down to the GS Nationals for the guys.

Yep, I was about to post the same image.
There are also instructions in the 1970 Owners Manual (the glove box booklet), but I don't have one for those small Buick models, so I can't show you that info.

1970 full size Riviera is different:
