I believe you guys.......Thats exactly why I have my old sp block.....build a mighty short block and then put my nice heads on there and a turbo......and boost away !! Always in the back of my mind.

I like your engine really much! I'm from germany and will build an engine like yours. Have bought a 76 350 and will run it on 12:1 cr because of our high octan in germany. Can you give me an explanation wich oil mods i can do on the block?

    Thanks a lot!

    alec296 i need another buick

the sump passage should already be bigger on 76 block but make sure alteast 9/16inch drill out timing cover passage to 1/2 inch and out drill slowly its aluminum i went 1 drill bit size up on feeds thru main bearings
but thats all i did on my 350 might want to drill out main feed passage
check your sump pick up i think 76 motors are 5/8 in the early motors had 1/2 inch sumps

The 830 dp sure makes a fun ride...went to the local car meet this am and was nice to see slot of guys liking my ride.... sooo easy to spin the tires in every gear so....last ride with the 3.42........in goes a 12 bolt 3.91.....should be fun !!

Thanks !........some thoughts to think about....I have an 830dp on there now 28 front and back squirters, 78,79 jets and a 65 power valve. Yesterday when I was running although it has fantastic off the line reactions.. it will fall a bit at about 4000. I am thinking I should see how it goes with the new gears first but am also thinking that I need to use a bit higher both power valve and jettings....
I checked the plugs and they are nowhere near running rich and if anything I could give it more to bring the heat point up the ground strap a bit more. When I had the 750 on there with the last motor it always ran a bit rich and would show on the plugs but with the 830 on the new motor maybe I can't feed it enough ??

Well just some food for thought, Sonny Seal ran two 750 CFM carbs on his 350, that was the fastest full weight 350 powered skylark without a power adder. on the side of the car it said:

Bring on those turbos and bigblocks

Even my mild 350 with low compression responded well to a 1000 CFM carb on the dyno peaking at 398 HP. Now this same engine has Sonny Seals heads so I expect even more air and fuel... Under low boost the 750 CFM EFI system will provide 1500 CFM or as much as the engine wants.

That is exactly how mine sounded when I had my motor built with the TA 510 cam in it. Bad A**. Don't you have a stout Comp Cam solid lifter cam? I had been thinking about using a solid lifter cam but not sure what to use yet. Have you been to the track yet or been to a dyno?
Also what did you use for the underdrive pulley set up?

yes...comp solid +/- 279 int - 290 ex.. lift 540 int - 552 ex. The under drive was a trip to the junk yard to findthe smallest crank pulley and the largest waterpum pulley cut them apart and then make some cnc bushings so they would line up....now at +/- %65 of stock.
No times yet as I just took the 3.42 rear out and am putting a 3.90 12 bolt in so it should be a bit quicker.

My son was here this weekend after his last official days in the service. He did 2 tours in iraq and is now going to college.
This buick was his first car from the original owner ..grandma. I took it when he went into the service and have done some of the things to the car, I am going to give it back to him when he moves back to california in a couple years, He had great smiles when he took this video this morning !!
Will add a few more things to it before he takes it back....It's the least I can do for him for all he did for us.

Pure AWESOMENESS . . . and some people seem to think one needs the BBB. Certainly inspiration to keep the SBB in my Apollo. Maybe I'm just tired, or maybe I'm just being lazy, could you put together a single spec sheet for your drive train? Parts list, mods etc . . .
