Is this a low body number?

  1. wondering if the 00309 is the body number and if so is it low enough to mean anything special?

That GS455 coupe was built in the second week of November 1969, so it should be a low body number.

The Flint assembly plant reserved the first few thousand body numbers for special car orders etc. As I understand it, this did not occur at the GMAD plants (Framingham, Leeds, Freemont) as most special orders were handled on the Flint line. Thus it is not unusual to see low body numbers on GMAD assembled cars.

Frankly I think your car is pretty special even if it were not a special order. Check your build sheet closely, there may be an indication there of something unusual about the car.

I harvested the pic from your ebay listing, if you prefer that it not be here let me know and I will delete it.
I see nothing obvious there, but I could be missing something. There are a few things on the buildsheet that don't appear to be on the car, but a lot of changes can occur over 40+ years.

I was a little curious how that worked. I have a 1970 "09B" Flint built car and the body number is 039xxx? Sloan docs match the cowl tag and conirm it as correct. Super early build and the fisher body number is close to 40 k?
