Sharkhide also comes in an aerosol. I have all the techs at the Hot Rod/Exotics Restoration shop that I manage use it on freshly zinc plated, black oxide, brass, copper, aluminum (cast as well as machined), bare steel, and other surfaces on a daily basis. I have a client's Multiple Award Winning 1956 Lincoln Mark II that we are freshening up from a previous restoration because of the degraded clear zinc, copper and brass underhood components. Everything we restored in Concours Capacity on this vehicle has been Sharkhide treated. Just yesterday I personally treated freshly zinc plated components for the 1967 Iso Grifo GL-350 that we are invited to take to Pebble Beach this coming August. (I can't wait to go to Monterey, .... it will be my first visit. We are also taking a 1979 Lamborghini LP400S that we are finishing up with a total restoration which will be on display at the "Quail" show in Monterey at the same time.) We try to stock 3 spray cans for in shop use at all times. I also keep it and use it regularly at my shop as well. Both shops keep a pour can of it in stock but use the aerosol 99% of the time. The actual cost of Sharkhide is "Cheap" in comparison to having to replate or replace components on our client vehicles that have degraded in short order (especially in high humidity situations).

Thanks! Great info. Do parts need to be re-coated periodically? Never been to the car show in Monterrey but been there several times - Beautiful area.

We never have had to recoat. The only instance I can see would be on aluminum pontoons in salt water, which I believe it was actually developed for.

Monterey is awesome - unbelievable cars there. Wow - Iso Grifo GL-350 and a Lambo LP400S - wonderful cars! Try to make it to the historics at Laguna Seca if you can. And hit the wharf too for dinner.

I like the chart by Paradigm I think on the previous page. I can’t quite make out much if any of the print.

when I pulled the diff cover from my ‘70 Electra 225, all the bolts had an anchor boldly embossed on top of each bolt. Reminded me of the Anchor Hocking company that made mason jars back in the day.

Any idea who made those bolts? Curious I am.

    Thanks,
