    Hi,
Begin this year we bought a Edelbrock B262 dual quad intake and we had it send to Carmen Faso to put on the carbs. He has put 2 AFB Carter on it.
Now I wanted to start putting it on the car. Then I saw that when you have the cabs in front of you, there is not a little plate on the secondary chambers. Normally there is I tought.
Can someone let me know what the little plate is for and does it matter if it isn't there.
The plate is linked to the accelorator linkage and opens up when you push down the pedal, normally.
I add a pic so you can hopefully see what I mean.

    Thanks

You are thinking of the Carter AVS (air valve secondary) carburetor. The AFBs you have use venturis on the secondaries, like the primaries.
    Happy motoring:), Frank

There is a secondary air valve on the AFB. If you stick your finger down there you can open it and you'll see the the other shaft and plates below it. Air flow through the carb will open it as necessary. Rochester Q-Jets have the air valve at the very top. The factory set up has a choke plate at the top of the primaries of the rear carb, if that's what you're thinking of. Any way, you can trust Carmen's work, he knows what he is doing.
