I have a 1967 GS convertible with the extended pinchweld trim that comes forward to the front of the quarters at the door openings and has matching pieces at the top of the doors. These door & quarter ledge reveal moldings have the felt windshield strips attached. Can some one tell me how the felts are attached to the stainless trim and then how the whole piece is attached to the car? Pictures would be great. Thanks in advance.
I have a 64 and I believe the trim is close to the same but mine has rubber rather than the fuzzy. You may need to pull the door panel off in order to get to the screws but there should be three. One at the end, one in the middle and one a few inches from the wing window. Once you get the screws out the fuzzy slides forward and off the trim. I hope you can make out the slots in the trim and the metal points on the rubber (inside fuzzy) in these photos.
The felt without the chrome bead slides on to the molding with the tabs and then the molding is screwed to the door and the screw goes through the rubber window sweep and molding. Should be one screw at each end if I remember correctly.
