Hello, my ignition sector gear for my 1971 Buick Riviera with tilt steering column broke. I'm having a hell of a time finding one. Can anyone help?

I might have one. I stock them for the tilt columns that I restore. I think I get them from Classic Chevy. The newer replacements are only five teeth, and the original is six.

Larry, that first one says its for non-tilt only I have tilt on the Riv, and I'm not sure about the second link. The part number I keep getting is 7805158. I know this is not a Riviera specific part I just keep running into gears that say non-tilt only and that is not what I need.
Brian, if the part is the right one I am interested in getting one.

The 2nd link from SS396 is the correct tilt sector gear.

So you're saying just buy it from them rather than you, got it. Thanks for the info brothers.

I just got 5 more tilts to restore, plus a few more for myself,so I will need to order more for myself as well.

The last one I needed came from one of the chain Auto Stores . It was in the HELP section .

The ones in the HELP boxes can work,BUT you need to install the matching slide gear with it. They come as a kit,and basically a matched set. That gear only has five teeth, but the slide gear is cut to match,so the timing of movement is still correct.

Oh, so the teeth do not matter (5 or 6) as long as the gear and slider are paired? Okay thanks for all the information.
