    I sprayed my car at Dragway 42 Sat. nite. Man what a ride. Car runs 13.50 on the motor. I used a 125 shot and ran a 12.28 @110. This was my best run out of 4. I think there is more in it also because I didn't hit it until I was 60 ft. out so my 60fts. were normal. I have a 3500 stall and when I hit the button the engine didn't drop below 5000 rpm, so shifting was very quick. I think there is an 11.99 in it.

    Guy,
    Post the specifics on your build and the type of ignition you are using.
    125 shot and higher you need to be very careful if you're not set up right.
    Nice numbers though. :)

    Guy,
    Cool! Did you ever get to spray it at Norwalk?

    Mine was 13.33@100 without N2O.
    12.10@110 with 100 shot;
    from 1.93 to 1.77 60feet

    using drag radial;
    Ignition MDS 6AL + MSD distributor
    Timing 30 @ 2500rpm

    Last run on nitrous was with 125 shot + a few mods, I was going for 11.90.
    Did blow the 10 bolt rear end on the line.
    Still going after 11

    The little small block is coming alive.
    The one thing I might add is your convertor needs to be tighter.Sounds to loose if the rpm never drops below 5k.What rpm do you shift at.I guess 6k.Right now you have a limited powerband due to convertor flash. If you tighten up the convertor it will most likely go in the 11's with no tune up changes.

    Here are my specifics on the motor- 355 .030 over Forged Pistons from TA, TA Intake Matched to heads, Larger valves from TA, 1.6 roller rockers Heads ported Approx 235 cfm on intake 176 on exhaust, TA did the heads, 1 5/8 Headers with Jet Hot, Index ground crank from TA, 73 capscrew rods from TA, MSD Billit Dist. 6AL ignition 750 Holley Dbl. pump Buick GS club Pop Mechanics Cam 507 502 lift 230-245 dur@.050 Buick GS club Torque Convertor... This Torque does stall higher it is a 3500. This works great on the motor alone my 60 fts. are 1.79-1.83 with this one. I used to have a Hughes convertor in it but it would only stall to 2700 before breaking the tires loose. The GS club convertor lets the car stall to 3000 before breaking the tires loose. I never expected the car to stay over 5000 rpm with the Nitrous on. I guess I need the other convertor with the Nitrous.

    I am using a 350 trans with a 373 rear gear Mickey Thompson drag Radials on back. Best 60fts ever with these tires.

    The Nitrous system I am using is Nitrous Works. I used the 125 shot. I also used the higher number jet for the gas just in case there was a problem. I used a 62 jet for the nitrous and a 57 jet for the fuel. I may be high on fuel though because when I would first hit it I seem to notice a miss then it would clean up. I am also using NGK plug UR 4 I don't know if a should be colder though this is the plug for the 1970 motor that had higher comp.

    I fogot to mention that my compression is at 10.6

    I set my timing @ 24 degrees My car seems to run best at 30-32 degrees of timing so I started at 24 I think I can add a couple. 7lbs. on Fuel guage
    Thats total on that timing.

    I do need a little advice on getting the car to "Turn on the Nitrous and hitting the gas to the floor at the same time though because I had just one little problem, I had a Nitrous EXPLOSION on impact with the gas hitting the floor." I only have the micro switch on the Carb and a power switch in the car. I bleed the line before I started I don't have a purge kit. I gt some advice like doing the burnout in 3rd gear with the Nitrous on to get it clean and ready to go. Someone else told me to use a button on the steering wheel or on the shifter to turn it on after I mash the gas. But I want it to go on when I hit the floor like I have it set up I know you Nitrous Guys know how to fix that it looks a little embarrassing blowing up on the line. :eek2:

    I wouldn't mind going to a dyno to get this tuned in right.

    Hey Steve hows it going. How do you like the way I gave away the race against your wife's T-Buckit when I red lighted at Norwalk? The bright side is I ran a 13.40 on that run. I really didn't think that I was going to go faster than 13.50. Did she go on to win? I never got to use the Nitrous at Norwalk, otherwise you would have gotton to se the Nitrous explosion there

    Later, Guy

    Guy,
    She won the 2nd chance race. Ran a 10.910 on a 10.91 dial. Not bad for a stock 350 with a cam. Of course the car weighs 2200 lbs. I lost the final in bracket 2. Had an .008 light and ran a 12.3294 on 12.33 dial. Billy Bader said I ran 6/10 thousandths under. Really sucked, but maybe I'll close the deal next year. Was on the brakes too. Ran 7 mph slower than usual and still broke out.
    Really good to see you. Looks like little 350 is flyin' now. I am really toying with building a killer 350 for my '65 Lark. Also working on a design for a sheet metal intake for the 350 motors. Don't know if it would spark any interest in the community, but I think I can make it so it has interchangable plenum boxes for different carb combos. Hope to have one built real soon.
    Maybe we will see you at 42 or Quaker soon.

    Steve

    sbbuick My driving scares people!

    Careful!

    Nitrous works very well with our SBBs. I haven't used it in a while, but when I did the results were insane. As with you, I was using a 125 HP plate. One point of caution -
    I was recently looking to go back to N2O when I realizeed that (at least with a TA intake) the rear sprayer holes are blocked by the intake center divider! I was trying to use a Super Powershot plate, not the std. It has more holes in the sprayer bars. Whatever the case, now I know why so many gearheads caution the use of plates with dual plane intakes!

    I do wonder if cutting down the center divider will help with this and also without Nitrous. I have also noticed that with the TA intake being made for a spread bore carb when I put the spacer on it this kind of blocks the larger area of the intake in the rear. I use a regular square bore carb. I think that Buicks For Speed mentioned a plate that sprays from the side of the plate instead of down the middle. Maybe he can chime in and let us know about this. sbbuick-- Thank you for the reply and information on this subject

    Thanks to all for replying on this subject also. Hey we all want to go faster but we want to keep the engine alive too. The Nitrous is nice and it does cost a few bucks but I have been running this engine for 10 years now and I kinda wanted something a little faster short of putting in a big block which I do have but at the time I wanted to be different so I did the 350. Sonny Seal insperation I guess. I heard his car 10 years ago and decided to do the 350. His car sounded bada** then and that was what I wanted. Now where is that single plane intake and aluminum heads I ordered? UPS is slow.

    I run a Mallory 140 pump with return line. I run about 7 lbs on guage. I also use 5 gallons of 114 race gas and 15 gal of 94 Sunoco gas
