    Hi to All,
My Wife finally succumbed to a family ailment Thanksgiving night. Pat had a problem similar to alzheimers but not. The ailment is so rare that it does not have a name yet as it has only affected 25 people as of now and they are all her family members. Her Mother passed away nine years ago, her brother last December, my Wife Thanksgiving night and her next younger Sister has reciently been diagnosed with the same, leaving one additional Sister who is not yet at the age this starts.
I am asking for prayers for the family members in hoping this will end, and for myself for strength to carry on and remain assured that God has a plan for us all.

    Gods Blessings to Everyone

    Don

God has a plan for everyone. Some know it, some don't. I question why a lot of things happen but hope some day I get to sit down with my Heavenly Father and He explains it all. Stay faithful Don. Prayers from Florida coming you way.

Very hard to come up with the right words at times like this for sure. I have also lost my Mom years ago. I also lost the love of my life close to four years ago. Somehow this all makes us stronger. Difficult to understand no doubt. I have had to remind myself daily that maybe by going through these unbelievably tough times is somehow a lesson that I can share with others that may be going thru a similar situation. I remember when my Mom passed it was the heaviest weight I had ever felt. I prayed and prayed. That was 17+ years ago. I still think of her daily and am grateful for the person that I am because of her. When I lost my true love and soulmate suddenly in car accident close to four years ago I was devistated beyond words. Pain like I have never even known. I felt like I literally couldn't breath. Didn't want to eat etc etc etc. I carry her memories with me as well daily. There really are no words to help directly in these times. About the only thing I can say is that there are lessons we may not understand until we are on the other side ourselves. I live my life now trying to make the most of my each and every day. I carry my Mom and my girl with me with every step. I am convinced that those that have passed somehow are still among us all. I give thanks many times a day in their name and those others that I have watched pass on. Grateful for every day that I was given with them. Keep your faith and handle your tough times the best way that works for you. There is not ONE answer that covers something like this. As time moves forward (which can be very difficult to watch) I can laugh and smile at some of the things that I miss about them. Still tear up plenty often but the great times that I had with them that I miss. For these great memories I will always be grateful. Keep strong my friend and don't give up on happiness in your world. Keep some faith that they have no more pains etc in their new world. Peace and prayers to you and yours!!

Thanks everyone for the prayers. God has been very good to me for many years, and then wonderfully good when Pat (Patsy, but she said it sounded old fashioned) came into my life. You see, Pat was not just my wife, but my best friend. We deer hunted together and went dress shopping together, and yup I was not the least bit embarrassed at standing in the middle of the ladies lingerie section waiting... Pat was the one who was either beside me or behind me pushing or in front of me pulling, so I always had the best. Oh yeah, Pat was the one who suggested I get the Buick, 'cause an old man needed to replace things LOST with something sexy and red...She also said that it was the last toy I could have, but never said a word about the parts to make it new. We talked constantly and I'm sure we solved all the worlds problems at least a thousand times, and knew exactly what we would spend the lottery money on if we ever won. That was just MY GIRL. I miss her so very much, but I know with God's help and the great people on this site, I'll make it through until I can be in Heaven with Her.

Best to All, and God's Blessings

    Don
