Do all big and small block GS come with the rear braces? I thought small block cars didn’t.....but guess I was wrong
Yep by the time 1970 rolled in ... ALL Monte Carlos had them standard. Just help triangulate the frame more for rigidity. They make upgraded tubular in the aftermarket know too. I would say any performance F41 suspension package got the frame stiffeners installed for sure. I am sure a BOOK GURU will chime in soon. JIm
According to service manual, all GS models regardless of engine came with the rear braces. It's another thing to look for to determine if it is a real GS.
Yep, Same a s a Monte. ALL of them got the rear braces. Likely 442 Gto etc got the same deal on the diagonal braces.
Well now I have tubular after market and stock braces! So - if you had a choice - use the stock braces, or the tubular after market?
Have a 30 spline Eaton, moser axles ready to go once I pull the rear for detailing. Have Johnny joints for the casting ears and polyurethane for the rest of the custom built control arms, and a 1 inch sway bar and air bags to install. Went with the 1350 pinion yoke...... next Spring - do the turbo 400 build.
