So I got the head off.... #7 cylinder had about 25PSI of cranking pressure... I suspected burnt valve... and I was right... It is burnt real horrowshow like... it's must have cracked or something cause there is like 2 lines burnt from the outside of the valve to about 1/2inch from the center. I'll post a pic later...
I also found that it has the compsite head gasket.... .040 thk, I am under the impression that it should have had the steel shim (.020thk), which is what I bought as a replacement. So I'm thinking the heads may have been off once before... for what I haven't any clue...
anyway... what's up with the nipple in the center of our pistons? For anyone who hasn't seen the top of a buick piston, it dished in, then in the center it cones back up, flatted out, then there is a little hole in the center of the flat. Strange....

I'm gonna get the rest of the motor apart (just the top end), and when the headers finnnnalllyyy get here, put everything in.

Home ported head, did alot of grinding I'd say, oversized valves, milled .060 (*should* put it in the 9-9.5 comp range...)
    TA212 cam
    double roller chain
    ta steel stamped rocker assembly
    ta intake
    ta chrome comp headers
    new valve springs
    adjustable pushrods

and I hope I don't have any piston to valve clearance issues and I'll be all set....

I think that's about it... I can't wait to feel the power! GRRRR!!!!
