I always wanted one of these cars. I remember when I owned a coffee shop from 1986 to 1996 and one of my customers pulled up to the front of the store with a brand new 87 GN. This is a 87 we4 turbo T car which made its way here from Wisconsin on Mothers day. It use to live its life here in New York, some guy named Jason Cook use to own it, anybody know him? :p
I can give some details on the car later. I really like this car fun to drive and runs real good. I want to thank Jason on the 10-20 on this car and Louie for his knowledge on turbo cars. And Yes I know the "T " emblems are in the wrong location, and has GN seats.:)

Or like leaving the Power Master on:eek::)?!

I keed, I keed. Just too high maintenance & troublesome for my tastes.

C’mon with me & we’ll get that car into the 11’s with A/C…..…:p:cool:.

    Enjoy her!

Easter Sunday 1987, Im 18 telling my family about this Buick I've been reading about and show them the brochure. I explain that there is only 1 in the county at Royal Buick way up in Sussex county. My uncle offers to take me and my kid brother to look at it the following weekend. Uncle Joe who (rip) who was probably the worst driver in history, smashes into someone turning and then someone smashes into us totally destroying his new Cadillac. We never saw the GN, probably for the better. I don't imagine both of us would have survived for long.

Congrats again, Tom! It’s going to be a great car while you work on the Olds. WE4 cars are only going to increase in value, and you found a nice one with great bolt ons. Plus, it was once owned by someone smoking hot! (Not Jason, no offense :D)

Funny story about that car...when I bought it, the woman told me to be very careful because its really fast. Being a young kid of 23 at the time and having owed already a slew of BB cars, I blew her off. Yeah, ok lady:rolleyes:.....first night I had it on the road, I was going to "watch TV";) with Jen in her mom's basement. I take the off ramp and came in hot and like that, the headlights aren't pointing where the car is going. And now I'm doing 360s in the wet grass. You could of pressed rivets with my butt cheeks that's how clenched they were. The car finally stops and I realize I'm in one piece and I didn't hit a tree. At the time, I smoked so I lit a cigarette and calmed myself down.

I remember telling myself, "wow, she was right! This car is a handful":D:D

Kind of an odd car... USUALLY if the car has the VD6 and VD7 (aluminum bumper backs it does not USUALLY have the G80 ((limited slip) option...

EDIT!!! I got my codes /combinations mixed up. It would be unusual to have the RPO J42 Aluminum Drum Rear brakes is usually with the open rears; J41 Iron Rear Drums is usually with the limited slip. G80'

It is unusual to see a Grand National with the VD6/ VD7 aluminum bumper backs; Most T package turbo cars DO have the VD6/ VD7 bumper backs.

    SEVERE BRAIN GAS

So I hear, but I also hear when they do work-they work great. I know the 60 year old woman I purchased the car from had the accumulator ball changed and brakes work great so far. A sweet lady who kept all the service records and receipts from the last 10 years. Her mechanic owns a 87 GN so the car was garaged and in good hands. Her mechanic set the car up for her son, but he didn't want anything to do with car, and she's moving to Arizona. Anyway here is what was done to the car, copied and pasted from her mechanic.

Motor rebuilt less then 500 miles ago. 206/210 roller cam, Harland sharp roller rockers, comp roller lifters, arp head studs, 20 over, crank and rods 10 under, rjc pullys, rare Kenny bell air dam and intake, art Carr built trans, South side machine bars, 340 fuel pump and hot wire, new sending unit. New door lock switches, window switches, all new upper door panels, new door seals, tinted t tops with new seals, new tires, umi shock brace in rear, rims all powder coated, new steering wheel, new center caps. 3 inch exhaust single, power window motor both new, with anti rattle update. It has upgraded pump and a tt chip along with scanmaster.

New power Attenna motor. One 3 inch pipe from down pipe back, more efficient then 2 mufflers as far as turbo spool up. Turbo is in great shape no play or blow by. Car has GN seats, aftermarket stereo, all gauges work. It has a fiberglass front bumper. I set the car up for her knowing if she left it for her son he could take it to the next level if he wanted, but he has since lost complete interest in the car.

I love the WE4’s. The clean look of no rear spoiler! I had a t-top version for a while too. Everyone thought it was a GN.

The boost in my 1987 Regal Turbo T was addictive. I had to hit it again and again.

Hitting the boost on a turbo car is like being with a hooker. You want to hit it but you know there are consequences...

Tom… very nice! My turbo bug began when I was 14 working construction (yes, 14 ditch digging). Guy I worked with pulled in w an 87 GN. I asked him to “light them up) and he laid it down for 2 telephone lengths!!!
My best friends family all worked at GM in Framingham. His brother restored old cars on the side (mostly Chevelles) before opening his own body shop…
Anyway, his father bought an 87 GN for his mother (digital dash), both his brothers had GN’s, his sister had a GN, etc. One day, parked in his driveway was a “special GN”… it was a GNX still with all of the plastic on it. Alan (my friends brother) bought it strictly to flip. If I recall, he also bought a second one….
Since then, always wanted an 86-87 GN….

Let me know how you’re liking it, Tom… still on the fence about getting one!
