short block build by Scotty .38 over, 11.35/1 compression with all oil mods, H beam rods, TA forged notched pistons, TA 510 cam all fully balanced and de burred. Highly ported TA stage one valves heads flow 248 cfm intake at .500 and 188 cfm exhaust at .500 on a superflow. SPX intake, Holley 850 HP, messier electric water pump, aluminum pulleys, 7 quart TA oil pan, new Poston valve covers. I just need lifters , pushrods, gaskets, and assembly. Any guesses what kind of power this combo can make?

Hmmm What if I pulled the ported TA SE Stage 1's off my current engine and swapped heads? My other combo is pretty mild so Stage 1 irons would be just fine on it. I do not have flow numbers though. I really hoped to get over 600.

I have the current yellow car scheduled to go in to the shop for a vintage air install next week. I will bring the iron stage 1’s with me and have him swap the heads first. I’m sorry honey! I don’t know why the bill is so much. Lol. Just kidding. I would do that to my first wife but not this one. She’s cool.

TA 1.6 roller rockers came with the new engine. FWIW the yellow car has them as well. I also got an electric air pump with it as the previous owner was planning on driving on the street occasionally.

Will it be on an engine or chassis dyno or are we all just pissing in the wind? 515hp, 570ft lbs. with the aluminum heads. 480hp 540tq with the irons. What is the cost per hp?

So far I have $6000 in it and am at $10/hp at 600hp and $12/hp at 500hp. There will be other expenses to finish it though like lifters, pushrods, and gaskets. I honestly couldn’t tell you if that’s good. It will be a while before it goes on a Dyno though as I don’t have a car for it yet. There are a couple in the for sale section that I might be interested in. I’m working on a big deal at work and if I can book it I will be in a position to grab one of those if it’s still for sale.

I thought it had TA stage 1 heads already. So fully ported stage 1 irons then. 547 HP, 545 ft lbs torque.
